Sandra Gibbs focuses primarily on litigating franchise and distribution matters, as well as other business disputes. She also counsels clients in connection with regulatory, transactional, and trademark matters, including compliance with federal and state franchise laws and preparation of franchise disclosure documents. Sandra is recognized as a Certified Specialist in Franchise and Distribution by the California State Bar.
Sandra has a varied background, having litigated franchise, antitrust, trade secrets, employment, and environmental cases (among other things) and having served as chief in-house counsel to two national franchisors. Her experience in both franchise litigation and franchise regulatory work gives her valuable and uncommon insight into both sides of the practice area.
Sandra’s favorite part of her job is researching and writing compelling and persuasive briefs, and she also enjoys writing articles when she has time. Her recent publications include Ixchel Pharma v. Biogen: Is This the Big One? in the Franchise Lawyer (2021) and Hidden Franchise Fees: Seeking a Rational Paradigm in the Franchise Law Journal (2020).
