Christopher J. Green

Christopher J. Green is counsel at Mortenson Taggart Adams LLP, where he represents clients in business litigation, franchise matters, contract disputes, construction defect, and employment law. His practice encompasses complex commercial cases involving breach of contract, fraud, business torts, unfair competition, shareholder and partnership disputes, and employment claims such as wrongful termination, discrimination, and wage-and-hour violations, as well as compliance with state and federal labor laws.

Christopher previously focused his practice on bankruptcy law, representing debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, and multiple Chapter 7 trustees in contested matters and adversary proceedings. His work encompassed both individual and corporate reorganizations and liquidations under Chapters 7 and 11, addressing issues such as the automatic stay, discharge and dischargeability, claim and lien priority, avoidance actions (preferences and fraudulent transfers), turnover, liquidation, and post‑judgment enforcement and collection. He brings this insolvency toolset to every engagement. His bankruptcy perspective, uncommon in typical commercial litigation, helps clients avoid pyrrhic wins, strengthens negotiating leverage, and yields judgments and resolutions grounded in financial realities as often as in substantive defenses.

In addition to litigation, Christopher serves as outside counsel to dozens of businesses, providing end‑to‑end guidance on contract negotiations, risk management, entity formation, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and employment law, including workplace policies, employee classification, and dispute resolution. He offers strategic counsel on asset protection, liability mitigation, and the day‑to‑day legal issues that arise in operating and scaling a business, with a practical, solutions‑oriented approach.

Christopher earned his J.D. from UCLA School of Law with a specialization in Business Law and served as an editor of the Journal of International Law and Foreign Affairs. Following law school, he served as a federal judicial law clerk in the Central District of California and later practiced at an international Am Law 100 firm, representing national banks and Fortune 500 companies in bankruptcy cases and other high‑stakes litigation.

Christopher has a diverse, entrepreneurial background: he served as Chief Financial Officer of a large permitting company; founded a café/restaurant and a computer repair business; and worked as a firefighter and emergency medical technician for more than five years. He has also worked as a stuntman and fire consultant for music videos, including Nickelback’s “Far Away.” In addition, Christopher is a published researcher on lie and truth detection at UCLA, coauthoring a study in the American College of Forensic Psychology; his research has been featured in Forbes and other media outlets.
